Fire marshal requirements
So what are a managers fire marshal requirements? Our fire marshal courses London programmes are attended by many different types of organisation. But these are common questions:
What are our fire marshal requirements? How many fire marshals do we need? What type of training should we receive?
Lets take a look at all of those questions. Firstly, what are our fire marshal requirements? Managers must appoint enough fire marshals or fire wardens to put the fire evacuation into place. This is needed at all times. Managers may also need to appoint some extra fire marshals as regular marshals may be on holiday, sick, on courses or not at their workstation when the alarm operates.
How many fire marshals do we need? The answer above should help, but here is a quick calculation you can carry out. Ask one person to search an entire floor of the building and time them. If the area takes three minutes to search, you will need three fire marshals. Also appoint some deputy fire marshals in case of their absence.
What type of fire training should fire marshals receive? Training should be given by someone with sufficient knowledge, experience and understanding. There is no need for accredited training but this does sometimes provide managers with a form of quality assurance of the training given. Our fire marshal courses are accredited by the IFSM and in addition all persons receive a training certificate. We can also change our standard course to include your own company fire plans. Any fire training should also be backed up with regular fire drills.
